Financial assistance

FEE-HELP

Australian students (and permanent humanitarian visa holders and some New Zealand citizens) may be eligible to apply for FEE-HELP, the Australian Government loan scheme that assists students with paying their tuition fees. For more information, see the ANU FEE-HELP page, or visit www.studyassit.gov.au

Support for Indigenous students

If you’re an Indigenous Australian planning to undertake Practical Legal Training, apply for the ANU School of Legal Practice's Indigenous Student Scholarship. In partnership with the National Centre for Indigenous Studies (NCIS) this scholarship funds the tuition fees of your ANU GDLP. Two scholarships are offered each year. Applications open in September and close in early November each year.

Applicants must:

  • be Indigenous Australians
  • meet the admission requirements of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice
  • have completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent.

Applicants must demonstrate how the scholarship will assist their personal and professional development. The Selection Committee may take into account the applicant’s academic record, other achievements, and, if relevant, personal circumstances.

Support for students in regional, rural and remote areas (RRR)

ANU School of Legal Practice is contributing to efforts to address the significant need for lawyers in regional, rural and remote (RRR) Australia. We strongly promote RRR placement opportunities during the GDLP and offer financial assistance and mentoring in support of students undertaking RRR legal practice experience. First arrange your RRR placement, then complete the  RRR Financial Assistance Aapplication Form for financial assistance towards costs like travel and accommodation.

Employer sponsorship

Your employer can sponsor you to study the GDLP, and they will be invoiced directly for payment of your fees. In order for this to occur your employer must complete and submit a PDF icon Notification of Sponsorship form (970.63 KB)
